A lightworker is someone who is meant to show up and just be the light. Lightworkers are here to help the collective consciousness raise their vibration and become spiritually awake! We are the examples, the grounding rods for new energy, and higher frequencies, and we are purpose driven!
However many lightworkers including myself, have spent a lot of time dim. Instead of being the lighthouse, relishing in one’s own light and very naturally being an example for others, showing the ships where to go, many have become the drowning victims waiting for someone to save them. This has been me, and as humans we all vacillate in and away from our own empowerment all the time, and that is ok! We are physical humans so it’s not about perfection. It’s about reaching for what you came here to do! Show up and shine!
Many lightworkers don’t even know they are lightworkers. Here are some characteristics of a lightworker.
- You are sensitive. You are empathic, taking on others’ energy, emotions, physical issues, or you get overstimulated easily by your environment and are sensitive to other people, places and things.
- You have a really hard time seeing tragedy and the news. You feel helpless and heavy when you see or hear about these things.
- You want to be of help in some way. You might know how or you might not yet, but you feel the desire to help, inspire and uplift.
- You feel different from a lot of people. Maybe because you see the world differently, or maybe it is because you see deeply into a person and it doesn’t seem that others are as interested in the soul of another.
- You see through people. You can deeply see into a person and as a result, people either easily tell you their story or might respond in uncomfortableness and resistance from it.
- You feel a desire to see people happy and free, spiritual awakened.
- You have interest in the metaphysical, spirituality and the like (this can also be in a religious context too of course).
- You are intuitive, psychic, are a medium, or any other word for seeing/feeling/sensing/knowing what our physical eyes can’t see.
These are just some of the many characteristics of a lightworker. Hey, anyone can be a lightworker, but many chose this path before coming into this incarnation. We are all intuitive, and connected to our higher self and source, however lightworkers seem to find this knowledge in this lifetime and feel the deep desire to share it with others somehow. Some lightworkers have spent a lot of time feeling alone or lonely, and also like they don’t fully belong here. They might love Gaia (earth) but also feel like they might have belonged somewhere else too.
When a lightworker steps into their power and releases some of their karmic baggage, some of these traits that seem to run the show, can be managed, and even diminished. For instance you don’t need to be in constant empathic overwhelm, you can stand in your power, be keenly aware and sensitive to others without taking it on. You can listen to your higher guidance so that you listen to things like the news when you are able to be the observer and not get taken down to your knees from it. You can find your purpose and passion and feel incredibly useful and fulfilled in your life being an amazing lightworker.
Lightworkers are not just people in healing or healthcare fields. Not at all! Lightworkers are all over. Lightworkers show up like the grounding rod sharing their light without needing an agenda. Lightworkers are not meant to scour the planet for people to help. Lightworkers can show up, be guided, and just be.
Yes! Isn’t that a relief? I know how strongly the desire to help can be. Trust me! However the desire to help can actually cause us to lower our vibration or dim our light to be in alignment with the people we are wanting help. This is because we want to help, we are intrigued with what a person is feeling and why, so our energy merges with another person’s. This is the empathic cycle that can be really damaging, and cause lightworkers to be unclear with who they are, what their purpose is and where their energy ends and another’s energy begins. Not all lightworkers are so empathically affected by others. Some are more stable in their own centered presence, but many aren’t and it doesn’t have to be this way!
Lightworkers are feeling the call even more right now! The collective consciousness is shifting rapidly and many many more are understanding the expanded view of our human existence.
