The process is this…
You ask for what you want.
Then you surrender. You open up to the journey of moving towards it. It’s so much easier than we make it out to be however surrendering is an art. It’s a skill something that we (most likely) were not taught in school. We were taught to figure it out and to push through.

What I’ve been finding lately more and more is that when I’m doing something that feels extremely hard, my knowing comes in and says “something is not right.” What’s not right is either the thing itself you are doing or the way/relationship/pattern/mindset towards it.
Let’s take a really tangible example. I had a paradigm shift with the shimmy. Yes as a dancer I had a paradigm shift with how I shimmied. It is been a move that I’ve struggled with and have been inconsistent with for a while. I didn’t understand why I couldn’t get that nice flowing movement with certain speeds of the shimmy that felt really effortless and easy or at least looked effortless and easy. I had the idea that if I kept improving in this pattern, pushing through, going the route I was going, it would improve very slowly over several months and it would be this kind of hard journey pushing through keep trying keep trying.
But I had a sense that a shift would just come. I knew it could be easier. I pulled up one of my online courses on the shimmy and the teacher said one thing that completely changed it for me. It changed the way I was doing it and immediately made it become quite easy and effortless. So what I thought was going to take several months took a few seconds. This doesn’t mean that I don’t have drilling and practice with it to make it cleaner and cleaner and more comfortable and more automatic. I sure do and I enjoy it too. However, the path I was going down was like going up the treacherous course on the mountain that really was not going to work out well and wasn’t going to get me to the top. Because at some point some big piece of rock was going to jut out and I wasn’t going to be able to get around it.
I saw the signs early on.
So let me just say that this doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t try to “work” on things.
What I’ve been talking about is the difference between your energy as you approach your life. A “hard versus easy” energy. It’s your vibration while you’re doing something and how it feels. When it feels really hard like you’re coming up against a wall or a dead-end understand that’s a sign. It’s a sign that how you are doing it is not the easiest path or the fun path, or joyful path. It means either the way you are seeing and feeling it needs to be shifted or the way you are doing it outwardly needs to be shifted or you need to let go of it all together.
This is not about a “wrong” and a “right” path. There are many many easy paths. You don’t have to concern yourself with how many paths there are and if you are on the right one. A change of course is always possible and there are limitless paths for you to choose. In fact, you create the whole damn path.
Until Next Time,
Vanessa
